Hi, I’m Andy. Health, science and longevity enthusiast. Nature, food and exercise lover. And uncle to 15 (and counting!). At around 40 years of age I had been a life long carbaholic and didn’t have the energy to fully carry out my physically demanding job (I had a 20 year career in paving and limestone wall installation) nor make the most of life’s myriad opportunities. At times I felt I was being glutinous and lazy, damaging my body and letting down my family and friends.

I was only 10 to 12 kilos overweight at any given time but what i wanted more than anything was consistent energy. Energy for play, family and a very tough job. After a half-hearted attempt at the raw food lifestyle, I stumbled across the works of the paleo/ancestral health luminaries, Mark Sisson and Robb Wolf and started structuring my diet around the low carb, healthy fat and nutrient dense foods advocated by the Primal philosophy. Admittedly progress was slow as my attachment to processed foods (especially sweet ones) was formidable. I went through more cycles of low carb/keto and then junk food binges than I care to remember.

With perseverance and faith in the knowledge and integrity of such experts, I gradually adopted the lifestyle and the junk food binges occurring (gradually) less and less frequently. Over time I have been able to sustain higher and higher energy levels, reduced the binges to a rare event and noticed greater strength and physical recovery than I would have expected at my age (>50). In spite of my occasional transgressions, I have thoroughly enjoyed conveying my new health knowledge and experiences to those in search of guidance. My new found energy allowed me to pursue an academic science education while also running my physically punishing paving and limestone wall business.

My health improvement journey has been a very rewarding experience and I came to believe that in order to assist others it would be essential to draw on my own experience, the expertise of cutting edge leaders and make a substantial investment in learning the correct methodologies required.

It’s amazing what a difference some simple lifestyle changes can make!
